The Living Dream

If you've ever experienced lucid dreaming, you, the dreamer, know what it feels like to wake up in a dream, realize that you are inside of a dream, and proceed to consciously narrate it.

I started practicing this when I was 15, without knowing that it would eventually lead my waking consciousness to expand, as well.

If you're anything like me, you've likely gone through several awakenings throughout your life, usually brought on by challenge, loss, change, or some kind of emotional unraveling that ultimately expanded your perspective and deepened your consciousness.

Because consciousness is, after all, attention.

And when we are attentive to the various ways in which we're challenged, overcome, and eventually find value in those experiences, we continuously shift into higher states of being.

Knowing this intellectually is one thing. But truly waking up to our ability to influence the story we are living is next level.

It’s one thing to say we are the writer, the director, and the star of our own reality. It’s another thing to remember that when life tests us again and again.

That, to me, is the real awakening. Not just becoming aware… But learning how to stay awake. 🤍
